Testing Testing

Images are of Lucie and Alistair working on the frame in Lucie's studio and equipment we are using.

This week we got a chance to play with our Restless Habitat structure. Alistair has some of the most amazing ideas to get things moving. We have found it hard to experiment in a confined space, but were there is a will there's a way.
Movement is crucial to the over all project and how is the time we are making restless movements. Using electric pulses we are making the structure expand and contract.

The next thing to ponder is the structure open for " nomads to wonder its corridors" or with there be obstacles on the nomadic cultures path way?

Restless Habitat

We are working on our new project. I have spent the week at the loom playing with a new product, (fluorescent light). It has many possibilities and I am looking at it in the context of illuminating the interior or what's inside the structure(ie: tent, yurt etc). All cultures and peoples need light to exist, many carry the light with them and many rely on the sun and the moon to reside or navigate the earths surface. If you are nomadic how do you light your habitat at darkness, during a storm, or even long winter nights. What has tradition in a particular culture got to do with modern times? How do these cultures deal with the 21st century and live in harmony with both worlds?
